Community Crisis Fund

The Community Crisis Fund helps nonprofit organizations in Elkhart County respond to urgent, unexpected events.

Originally established in 2007 in response to tornadoes in Nappanee, the fund was designed to provide disaster relief in moments of real need. In early 2025, following a tragic shooting at an Elkhart Martin’s Super Market, more than $30,000 was contributed to this fund by generous individuals, businesses, and community partners. These donations supported trusted nonprofits providing care and services to those impacted by the tragedy.

While we hope circumstances like these never arise again, the Community Crisis Fund remains in place—ready to provide swift assistance to those facing an unforeseen crisis.
