Our next Estate Planning Council event will feature a cybersecurity expert.

David Behen, chief client success officer at SensCy, a cybersecurity organization in Ann Arbor, Michigan, will present at our February event about the cybersecurity threats we are all facing every day, the threat actors who are doing this, and what we can do to protect our companies and ourselves.

He will offer ample time for discussion and questions and says that the conversation will be fun and interactive.

We look forward to seeing you at Bread and Chocolate for lunch, followed by the program.

The program is free for current Elkhart County Estate Planning members and $35 for non-members. The event is for wealth managers, financial planners, and professional advisors who are part of the Estate Planning Council. To join the ECEPC, click here.

About our speaker:

David Behen is the Co-Founder and Chief Client Success Officer of SensCy, an Ann Arbor-based cybersecurity startup focused on small and medium-sized organizations.

He has held executive leadership roles in the private and public sector for over 20 years. In these roles, he has led award-winning information technology (IT) functions across the enterprise, aligning technology with the company’s business objectives. Behen has been named in the CIO 100 five times, both in the public and private sectors.

He spent five years as the VP/CIO for La-Z-Boy where he led the global IT reinvention and development of the company’s cybersecurity program. Prior to that, he spent over six years as a cabinet member for Governor Rick Snyder as the Director of the Department of Technology, Management and Budget, and Chief Information Officer for the State of Michigan. There, he led a department that employed 2,800 associates with an annual operating budget of $1.4 billion. Under Behen’s direction, Michigan established itself as the national leader in the IT and cybersecurity arena.

SensCy was launched in July 2022 by former State of Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, former State of Michigan and La-Z-Boy CIO David Behen, retired Michigan State Police CTO Dave Kelly, and Ann Arbor serial entrepreneur Bhushan Kulkarni. The cybersecurity product and services offered by SensCy are focused on small and medium sized businesses (SMO’s) and are high-tech and high-touch. Their vision is to be the cybersecurity trusted guide for SMOs and partner with them to put in place a proactive cybersecurity program, which includes education and awareness training, development of an incident response plan, cybersecurity policy development, vulnerability scans, and more.

Behen co-founded a software company, InfoReady, and served as a vice president and CIO of its parent company.  Behen holds several board and committee positions in professional and technology organizations. He frequently serves as a keynote speaker, expert panelist, and moderator for national and international audiences providing expertise on information technology, cybersecurity, data management and leadership.
