Our next Estate Planning Council event will feature a local expert speaking on “What Advisors Should Know in Serving Seniors and their Families.”

Carl Bossung, co-founder of Senior1Care, will present to the Elkhart County Estate Planning Council at our December 4, 2024, meeting.  He will focus on:

  • Lack of Planning by Seniors: Advising clients in creating a care roadmap to prevent crisis decisions and encouraging them to explore care options in advance.
  • Healthcare Complexity: Helping clients designate a Power of Attorney for both healthcare and finances to protect their interests.
  • Paying for Care: Assisting clients in understanding payment options, including private pay, Veterans benefits, LTC insurance, and Medicaid.
  • In-Home Care Risks: Helping clients assess agencies for proper licensing, background checks, and caregiver supervision.
  • Navigating Caregiver Shortage: By 2030, there will be fewer caregivers available. Helping seniors understand that early planning is crucial to avoid the growing caregiver gap.
  • Keys to Longevity: Encouraging clients to focus on purpose, health, learning, and socialization for a fulfilling life in their later years.

We look forward to seeing you at Das Dutchman Essenhaus for lunch, followed by the program.

The program is free for current Elkhart County Estate Planning members and $35 for non-members. To join the ECEPC, click here.
