Organizational culture shapes how people work together, make decisions, and carry out their mission. This free workshop offered by the Community Foundation of Elkhart County offers a thoughtful approach to understanding culture and guiding change within your nonprofit.

In the session titled, “Understanding Organizational Culture: Tools and Language for Leading Change,” you will be introduced to a practical and respectful process grounded in the work of Edgar H. Schein and Peter A. Schein, who have spent decades studying how culture forms and evolves. The session also includes newer insights shaped by the realities of recent years and the increasing complexity of nonprofit work.

Participants will:
• Build a shared understanding of what organizational culture is and how it shows up in day-to-day work.
• Learn how to describe culture using accessible language and clear examples.
• Reflect on what may (or may not) help when trying to guide change.
• Leave with a basic structure for designing a culture-related change process.

This workshop is intended for people in nonprofit leadership roles who want to be more intentional about how culture affects communication, morale, accountability, and mission work.

Who can attend:
This free session is open to those working with Elkhart County nonprofits or nonprofits serving Elkhart County. To ensure space for a variety of organizations, please limit participation to two representatives per nonprofit.
